Autumn Gold
Walking my way through the summer with friends who showed me their places of significance and meaning has been part of the joy of my journey. And this autumn is such a revelation of harvest in colour, taste, texture and abundance.
Part of the feeling of overflowing riches for me has been an inner journey that led me to the work of psychotherapist and author Peter Michaelson. He is the man for those of us still playing games with excuses about why we are not feeling full and satisfied with life and he leads the way out of self-pity without avoiding that we are the source of our own. If any of us are still refining our way to co-creating reality with the humility to know it’s also “not all about us” Peter’s work can illuminate more of our unconscious patterns and bring them to the light.
I am happy to say he works with inner resistance to change, which is also supportive of our understanding and integration of the work we do with resistance in the Moving Mandala, He shares anecdotal material from his time with clients and from his own life. When he speaks of himself it’s very matter of fact and not more drama that cloaks the issues. It’s pretty sane.
Therefore I am adding one of his many publications to the book list and being grateful that another fellow traveller is sharing his considerable insights, experience and expertise with readers. He also reflects on our society and conditioning so that we can relate to the bigger picture. The book I am referring to is The Phantom of the Psyche.
In dying to the old at this time of year, it leaves room for the new to arise. In planting tulips from a friend this fall I have more hope for the spring and the thought that in spirit, and in harmony with this seasonal way of being with nature in the northern hemisphere, we humans also rise again.
