Bellydance

We are re-writing our stories, reflecting a change of consciousness and a contemporary, soulful culture based on ancestral roots: I feel this in the work of Laura Selenzi, a woman living in Halifax who is recognized for her belly dancing, and who is taking it beyond entertainment.
Like anything else popularized in our society, the belly dance became a fad and so it got co-opted along with many practices and buzz words that were not so understood by the West when they came from other cultures in the East. The spirit of the woman in this dance comes through the choreography to reach us from the deepest place of love. The beauty of her expression shines through her appearance and body which are incredibly lovely, to bring transcendence to the form.
