After Brigid’s feast of 2017 I decided to do a little tour of my own studio space with a camera. I realized what rich textures and colours are surrounding me, partially as a result of the altars that have been created for the Divine Feminine, Ancestors, and other spirits that we call on for support. There are bones of memory, the veil between the worlds, the magic of bird medicine, the stones of our earth’s history records, chakra colours in fabric, evidence of prayers and blessings and gratitude that fill the studio with the energy of the invisible made visible.

This nurturing environment comes about through the intentions of many individuals who have joined in shamanic sessions, celebration, and ceremony as well as my own practice in solitude. Dyads, triads and mandala circles, have gathered in the space, and the building of altars, like the building of many layers of devotion in a community, focuses our intent.

It’s good for my soul to witness, share, and to bring beauty into the world as spring breathes under the falling snow of February and promises to emerge again.
